The Chemical dependence is a chronic, progressive and fatal disease if not detained and treated in time. It is however a treatable illness. It affects the individual at all levels of the bio psychosocial functioning, weakening of Physics, Psychological, Emotional and Spiritual, and also as peculiar characteristic affect the family as a whole. The initial pleasure provided by the consumption of alcohol or other drugs eventually become emotional pain. Alcohol or drug gradually increases until the individual can no longer control himself. then appear the physical consequences, emotional, social, intellectual, professional / school, associated with feelings of guilt, shame, anger, fear, frustration and regret, and the dwindling pleasure and suffering increasing. Its characteristics are defined by ICD 10 the World Health Organization and the American Psychiatric Association, through the DSM-IV Diagnostic and Statistical Manual.
